This issue of the Scientific and Technical Reports (ICT-UNPA) compiles a series of articles presented during the XIII Patagonian Geography Conference and the III International Congress of Geography of the Argentine-Chilean Patagonia.

The Patagonian Geography Conference was held at the Río Gallegos Academic Unit of the National University of Southern Patagonia (UNPA-UARG) on November 7, 8, and 9, 2024.

This meeting promoted debate on territorial issues of Patagonian spaces in their different dimensions and scales, and from diverse approaches. In this way, it was consolidated as an instance of exchange of results from ongoing or completed Research or Extension projects, as well as undergraduate and graduate theses related to Geography in national Patagonian universities.

The Patagonian Geography Conference has been organized since 1994 by the national universities of the region that offer Geography programs: the National University of Patagonia San Juan Bosco at its Trelew and Comodoro Rivadavia campuses, the National University of Comahue, and the National University of Southern Patagonia at its Río Gallegos Academic Unit. Other participating institutions include universities, teacher training colleges, and secondary schools that offer geography-related courses within their disciplinary fields.

The XIII Patagonian Geography Conference and the III International Congress of Geography of Patagonia (Argentine-Chilean) provided a timely space for reflecting on the interdisciplinarity of the social sciences, natural sciences, and the humanities, regarding the environmental crisis, vulnerability, and the challenges posed by climate change. They also emphasized the commitment to educate in emancipatory competences required to address the problems of today’s world and to be applied in professional practice.
